Final Stop - Zion National Park

Just when you think you have seen the most beautiful places on earth, you are amazed to find out that that is not necessarily true.  Such was the case when we visited Zion National Park in Utah!  As Utah's tourist bureau describes,  "....more than 4 million people come from around the world to feed more than their bodies. Most visitors today come to nourish their souls with the sight of the verdant valleys and vermillion cliffs of Zion...."
The colors of reds and oranges permeate your view and you are aware that you are seeing some of the most dramatic views of your life....it really touches your soul!
We were able to spend a couple of days hiking through this majestic land.  We both hiked the Riverside Walk.  Lee was able to take the Narrows hike where the Virgin River had carved out a spectacular gorge in the upper reaches of Zion Canyon.  He hiked through the river where he saw soaring walls, sandstone grottos, natural springs, and hanging gardens.
Definitely a bucket list item for anyone who appreciates the majesty of nature!

Stay tuned for our next Griswold adventure to Alaska.....blogs will begin in July 2018
